Mid-lent Fair Opening 2026

All the fun at the Fair! It was an honour once again to carry out the long-standing tradition of opening the Mid-Lent Fair on Sunday 22nd March. The proclamation was read out by our Ambassador, Cllr Wayne Hasnip, continuing a tradition dating back centuries and formally marking the opening of the fair. The occasion was also blessed by Fr Stuart, providing a meaningful and reflective start to the festivities.

The civic party then enjoyed some of the rides before returning to the parlour for tea and cake.
